Dear Parents:
Because even this early in the school year we could experience delays due to fog, we thought we’d better remind you of this year’s inclement weather delays or closing announcements. On days when an event like this may seem a possibility, please tune in to your radio or TV station to see if we may be announcing a delay or cancellation. Listed below are some of the stations that would carry our weather related announcements.
|
Radio Stations WHIO Dayton (AM-1290) (FM-99.1) MIX (FM-94.1) |
TV Stations |
We will make every attempt to get our school closing announcements in to these stations as early as possible, so please tune in to these stations when the weather seems questionable. Closure of our programs will be listed as “Preble County ESC Classrooms”, so remember to listen or watch for that announcement. This year our preschool programs will be implementing a PLAN B delay. This means when ESC classrooms are on a 2 hour delay, we will pick up preschool students 2 hours later for the morning session and get home one hour later. The PM classes will start one half hour later and get home at their regular time. For your convenience a specific time schedule describing a PLAN B delay for your child’s preschool is attached on this form. Preschool parents, please remember that because of the automated settings of some of the TV and Radio stations, the announcement might read “Kindergarten Plan B instead of Preschool Plan B. For Preble County ESC programs, this means the same. We have students in our programs that are from all districts in Preble County. Because the weather can differ greatly from one part of the county to another, our programs could be closed even if the school district in which you live could still be open or delayed. Please remember our programs will close or delay based on the announcement mentioned above, not the automatic phone call or TV message of your local school district. We want to stress that you watch for the announcement mentioned above when wanting information about our classroom programs. If a local district should make a late announcement that they are on delay or closing, this does not necessarily apply to our programs. In the past we have had situations when this has happened, and we did not delay or close because our morning bus routes had already started at that time. If you have any questions, please feel free to call 839-3128.
Let’s all hope that we have good weather this year!
Thank you for your cooperation,
Preble County ESC Classroom Program Administration
